Mystic Blue

Every city should have a Mystic Blue. Cruise, drink, dance, and dine. Blame it on the river.

Laid back and contemporary, Mystic Blue Cruises has more to offer visitors to Chicago than all other attractions combined. If you like riverboat cruises, you don't want to miss this one. Terrific views and great service are words used to describe Mystic Blue, and we'll have to agree.

All Mystic Blue cruises invite guests to dine on climate-controlled decks and enjoy the Chicago breezes as they navigate around the skyline that stretches for miles. Whether you take a morning cruise, an afternoon excursion, or a night time romantic ride, a Mystic Blue cruise will have you in awe. The cruise line even sponsored special events during holidays and different times of the year.

Each deck of the Mystic Blue ship is silver interiors and blue highlights, a main bar and separate washrooms. The Skyline Deck is available to every passenger on the ship and gives open-air views of Chicago's skylines. With 1,000 square feet of deck space, the deck can seat up to 145 passengers, and it often reaches capacity. Smoking is permitted on all outdoor decks and there is a sound system so passengers can hear the DJ and the wide array of musical styles that go along with his selections.

The Vista Deck can seat up to 80 passengers inside and 30 outside. There is a bar and a dining area with spacious walkways. The tables and the service are as elegant as any restaurant in the city.

All boarding and departing from the cruise is done on the Escapade Deck, which can seat up to 196 on 3,175 square feet o deck space. The dance floor area is 220 square feet and persons with disabilities will have no problem gaining access to any of the amenities on this deck - not even the bar.

Then there's the Horizon Deck. This lake level deck seats 204 and sports a 3,000 square foot dining area. The gallery is 700 square feet and the dance area is 314 square feet. Plus, you don't have far to walk for a drink because the bar is just a few feet away.

The Society of American Travel Writers voted the Chicago skyline of the Top 10 Panoramic Views in America. You'll fall in love with the Windy City architecture, which includes Sears Tower, the world's second tallest building at 1,454 feet, Lake Point Tower, the Adler Planetarium, the Aon Center, the John Hancock Center, the Prudential Plaza buildings, and more. The cruise begins and ends at Navy Pier.

The Mystic Blue was launched in 2003 at a cost of $4.5 million. Passengers walk up to the ship and get their photos taken by a crewmember before boarding. Then you can purchase them when you walk off the ship after the cruise. Onboard buffets are changed three times during every cruise so guests can enjoy a meal at their own good pleasure. Cruise guests will enjoy soft music at the start then a bit more "hopping" as the cruise progresses, designed to entice you the dance floor for a little boogie. And to top it off, you'll get fantastic views of one of America's largest skylines - right from Lake Michigan.

The captain of all cruises are Coast Guard certified and licensed. The crew is friendly and the service is excellent. If you have a group and want to plan a special event, Mystic Blue will cater to that need as well. But one of the most exciting services of the cruise are its year round special cruises. Among those are the Halloween Cruise, Saturday Gospel Lunch Cruises, the Club Mystic After-Hours Midnight Cruise, and the New Year's celebration cruise.

Every year, the Navy Pier features "Navy Fear" at Halloween. Mystic Blue Cruises compliments this special event with its own Halloween cruise that includes a best costume contest for the kids, trick or treat goodie bags, complimentary drinks for adults with a "Ghostly Garden" admission, a balloon artist, and great music with a scary DJ.

The Saturday Gospel Lunch Cruises feature live gospel music and wholesome family entertainment.

The midnight cruises are awesome and if you are in Chicago for just one night, this is where you need to be. The night club atmosphere of this cruise begins at midnight. You can dance all night to hip hop, R&B, and your favorite musical styles carefully selected by the best DJ's in Chicago. And you don't want to miss the spectacular nighttime views of the skyline from the best decks on Lake Michigan. The midnight buffet includes Buffalo Chicken Wings, Egg Rolls, Taquitos, and Vegetable Crudites.

And if that isn't enough, enjoy the New Year's celebration one mile off shore, complete with fireworks, champagne, food, and dancing. Playing off the Brazilian Carnaval theme, music and dance includes the Samba and, of course, Chicago's magical skyline.

No matter what your passion or interest, Mystic Blue Cruises can entertain you and make your days and nights special. Just be sure to invite the skyline.
