If you are looking for a whimsical and fun, yet serious and elegant dining experience, try TRU in Chicago.

TRU is a contemporary restaurant owned by Rick Tramonto and Gale Gand. Chef Rick Tramonto is the Executive Chef and Chef Gale Gand is the Executive Pastry Chef at TRU.

The name, TRU, is derived from a combination of Tramonto's last name and the word "unlimited". Unlimited describes the creativity and uninhibitedness of the owners of TRU. Both chefs guarantee you a unique and uninhibited dining environment.

TRU is a beautiful restaurant. Its style is simple chic. Black velvet chairs and crisp, white silk table linens adorn the tables which are spaced just perfectly for a romantic atmosphere. The floors at TRU are covered with charcoal carpeting and European mosaic tiles perfectly coordinating and complementing the simplistic dècor.

There is so much attention to detail at TRU which enhances the look and feel of exquisiteness of the elegant atmosphere they have created for you at TRU. Your wait staff maintains the appearance of minimalist elegance by donning black attire as they provide you with impeccable service for your unique dining experience.

The dedication to creativeness extends to the pieces of artwork selected for display at TRU. Artwork specially selected for display at TRU come from a variety of contemporary artists including Yves Klein, Gerhard Richter and Andy Warhol.

The cuisine at TRU in Chicago has been described as progressive French or Mediterranean-inspired French. Whichever way you choose to interpret or define the cuisine at TRU, it will not change the fact that the food is unique and first-class.

If you are looking for a posh restaurant to impress a few relatives and friends, TRU can accommodate. TRU offers their private dining salons to make your special party truly memorable. These dining salons can easily accommodate 12 to 36 very special friends.

Another exciting option at TRU is the Kitchen Table dining. Take a chance and make reservations for this menu-less dining extravaganza behind the scenes in the beautiful kitchen of the Chicago chefs. You will be presented with a ten course "spontaneous" meal for each of your guests.

If you must dine with the help of a menu, TRU gives you a few choices in their Main Dining Room. You may select from a three course Prix Fixe menu or choose one of their Collections menus. The three course Prix Fixe menu includes and appetizer, main course and dessert. TRU Collections provide more of a taste-testing opportunity to sample six or seven dishes in their seafood, vegetable or dessert collections.

Depending on the TRU collection that you choose, you will have a chance to dine on delectable dishes such as Roasted Beef Ragout, Peekey Toe Crab Salad, Gulf Shrimp an Jonah Crab Ravioli, Braised Manila Clams and even Chocolate Mousse Crêpe with Banana Bisque.

Part of the art at TRU is the use of alternative surfaces as serving dishes. One example of a alternative serving surface is TRU's famous Caviar Staircase. The Caviar Staircase is a miniature staircase made of glass. An elegant caviar is presented on each of the eight steps.

If you appreciate an elite and elegant dining experience, in simple, yet chic atmosphere then TRU in Chicago is for you. Arrive at TRU in your business dress attire and be sure to make your reservations in advance.
