Ride to the top of the Sears Tower Skydeck, and see the enormity of the city. Enjoy the intriguing wonders and entertaining aspects of nature's awesome animals at the Lincoln Park Zoo. Explore the Shedd Aquarium; featuring over 8,000 aquatic and amphibious creatures.
Sears Tower Skydeck
Rise up 103 floors atop the Sears Tower, and get ready for some incredible sights! The towering buildings of Chicago create a brilliant display of beauty and wonder. When skies are clear you can see right into Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin. As you ride up, the elevators have giant flat screen TV's that simulate the feel of rocketing into outer space. Once on top, you can learn about Chicago's history and locate key buildings and places throughout the city. Kids can enjoy a low-window lookout that circles the perimeters. Telescopes align the skydeck for a closer look. If you're feeling ravenous, you can dine on tasty choice meats or a scoop of ice cream at the deli.
Lincoln Park Zoo
Established in 1868, the Lincoln Park Zoo is one of the oldest zoological gardens in the U.S. Every year, over three million visitors explore the wonders of this magnificent zoo. Perhaps the most unique feature is the intimate design that allows for a more personal interaction with the animals. Peer into the eyes of a hairy gorilla. Stand tall with the giraffes and see their incredibly long necks. Have a staring contest with a burly white polar bear. There is much to experience, but best of all, the zoo is free (except for an hourly parking charge).
Shedd Aquarium
Situated within Chicago's Museum Campus is an aquatic realm of brilliance. The Shedd Aquarium features over 700 different species from around the globe. Peruse the Seahorse Symphony, and watch majestic seadragons, pipefish, trumpetfish and seahorses float and flutter through the water. Explore Amazon Rising and see ferocious piranhas, gargantuan anacondas and "the water monkey" – famous for its ability to launch out of the water and capture prey. Wander through the Oceanarium; a rainforest filled with happy otters, dolphins, whales and chipper sea stars.
